St. Joseph’s Health Foundation, Inc. (the Foundation) is a charitable IRS 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to promote the interests and programs of St. Joseph’s Health. The Foundation shall endeavor to raise funds and support from the general public, through a Board of Trustees, to sponsor, develop, promote and encourage public participation in programs and services that address the health needs of the community, with a special concern for the poor and underserved.aWe believe that giving back is an important part of our culture, as philanthropy goes hand in hand with our goals of providing the highest quality patient care and promoting good health. St. Joseph’s Health Foundation is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve, and supports the work of our System including the needs of St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Health Totowa Campus, and our many outpatient facilities located across Northern New Jersey. St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is a world-class academic and tertiary medical center serving the greater northern New Jersey and metropolitan area. The hospital is home to the third largest Emergency Department in the country, offering state-designated trauma care, including dedicated geriatric, adult and pediatric emergency units. The Emergency Department at St. Joseph’s is also the first in the United States to launch an Alternatives to Opioids Program (ALTO), a highly successful and unique approach to acute pain management without the use of opioids.
St. Joseph’s University is a six-time recipient of the prestigious Magnet® Award for Nursing Excellence (the profession’s highest honor), an accomplishment reached by only 11 hospitals worldwide. The Medical Center is the only hospital in New Jersey to be recognized by HealthGrades for excellence in women’s care, obstetrics and gynecological surgery, and is one of only 53 medical centers in the country to be recognized by LeapFrog as a Top Teaching Hospital.
As part of the St. Joseph’s Health system, over 150,000 patients are treated each year at St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center. Leading edge clinical services include orthopedics, spine and sports medicine, as well as advanced cardiovascular and stroke care. The hospital also offers a dedicated rehabilitation unit, the John Victor Machuga Diabetes Education Center, and a full-range of inpatient and outpatient services. Plans are currently underway for a major renovation and expansion of the Emergency Department on the Wayne campus, including geriatric specialty beds and an observation unit.
The St. Joseph’s Health Medical Pavilion on the campus of St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center is a new state-of-the-art facility is home to leading physicians offering the most advanced treatment options in areas including surgery, cardiac rehab, physical therapy, infusion and much more.
The St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is a state designated specialized children’s hospital located at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, providing advanced care for children from birth to 21-years-of-age. One of the first pediatric hospitals designated by the State of New Jersey, the Children’s Hospital offers over 100 pediatric specialists across more than 50 pediatric subspecialties serving 500+ families annually.
A new state-of-the-art Women’s & Children’s Medical Pavilion is currently under development at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, creating the premier destination for quality healthcare for women and children in our area. The new Pavilion is designed to deliver clinical excellence and family-centered care for children and women of all ages, using best practices and state-of-the-art technology while offering privacy, comfort and elegance that redefines personalized care.
St. Joseph’s Health opened of a new state-of-the-art outpatient facility in Totowa, New Jersey in July 2022, that provides access to primary, urgent and specialty care services under one roof. The St. Joseph’s Health Totowa Health Campus is a multi-specialty care model that offers convenient access to healthcare services in a seamless and efficient way for patients and their families.
The new campus, located at 225 Minnisink Road in Totowa, is a 140,000-square-foot facility that integrates a comprehensive listing of outpatient services, including primary and urgent care, specialty care, diagnostic imaging including MRI and CT, Radiology, Lab Services and Pharmacy all under one roof. A host of medical and surgical physician offices are located on the campus, including cardiology, urology and gynecology, along with specialty Centers including Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy.
In the fall of 2022, the health campus opened a new Comprehensive Cancer Center in partnership with Hackensack Meridian John Theurer Cancer Center. A cutting-edge subspecialty outpatient facility, The Cancer Center at Totowa, has a team of top-notch specialists and medical experts is dedicated to guiding patients through every phase of their cancer journey. The mission is to make advanced oncology services easily accessible to Passaic County and northern NJ residents, eliminating the need for extensive travel for care.
