Summer 2020
Summer is here and after a few months of social distancing, we know you are itching to get outside and enjoy the warm weather. However, COVID-19 is still a risk, so we want to prepare you with tips for staying smarter and preparing for outdoor activities safely.
- Maintain social distancing guidelines, even while outdoors: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends staying at least six feet away from anyone who doesn’t live in your household. This holds true whether you are at the beach, a park, or on a hiking trail.
- Wear a facemask and continue practicing good hygiene: Protect the people around you by wearing a face mask, especially in places where social distancing might be difficult, like the grocery store. Wash your hands often (and well!), and frequently sanitize items in your home that are frequently touched, such as door knobs and sinks.
- Don’t delay your care: Be assured that that you are able to safely receive the care that you need at St. Joseph’s Health. Through telemedicine or in-person appointments, we are seeing patients within our doctors’ offices; we’re also scheduling the procedures and services that you need within our facilities for expert diagnosis and treatment.
- Complete important tasks at home: This technically isn’t a summer safety tip, but it’s an excellent way to start thinking ahead and staying smart. St Joseph’s Health has partnered with FreeWill to help you write your will online for free.
