September is Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month!

September is designated as Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month to raise awareness and funds and to celebrate our pediatric patients and those who care for them. The Valerie Fund Children’s Center for Pediatric Cancer & Blood Disorders at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital serves over 5,000 patient visits each year, including 120 sickle cell patients, and depends on the generous support of donors like you tocontinue its mission to provide individualized care to children close to home. Our team believes the most effective way to heal the children in their care is to treat them emotionally, socially and developmentally, as well as medically.

While treating the needs of the patient is top priority, the effects on families facing the illness of a child are far-reaching and long lasting. Our team is committed to serving the needs of the family as a whole, whether it be financial assistance for rent or groceries or providing laptops for distance learning.

Your gift ensures that this support can continue as their child undergoes treatment.

Can we count on your support? Your gift makes an immediate impact on the programs and services we offer here at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital for families in need. Please click the button below or contact donations@sjhmc.org.
