A memorial gift is a special way to honor the memory of a friend, colleague or family member who has passed away. Your memorial or tribute gift will be a lasting tribute to your loved one and make a difference in the lives of many.

How will my loved one be recognized?

There are many options for a memorial gift, including:

• Honoree’s name engraved on a plaque
• Building named after honoree
• Endowed fund named after honoree
• Scholarship named after honoree

You can honor a loved one by making a tribute gift through St. Joseph’s Health Foundation.

Giving Online

The fastest and easiest way to make a tribute gift is to give online and designate whether the gift is “In Honor of” or “In Memory of” on one of our online giving forms under “Tribute Information”. At your request, we will send a note that a gift has been made (without specifying the amount) to the person being honored or to the family of the person being memorialized. We will also send you an acknowledgment that the gift has been received.

Giving by Check

If you prefer, you may mail a check to the Foundation with a note indicating the name of the person you are honoring or memorializing, as well as the name and address of anyone who should receive an acknowledgment of your generous donation.

Tree of LIfe | In Memory, In Honor, In Love

Your loved one will be recognized on our Tree of Life, a beautiful wall sculpture displayed in the entry foyer of the Chapel at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson. The Tree of Life symbolizes our mission of caring for all—with a special concern for those who are poor, vulnerable, and underserved. As we celebrate the year of St. Joseph, it is appropriate that St. Joseph the Worker, our namesake, is beautifully carved on the trunk of the tree.

Your special gift to the Tree of Life program will do even more than recognize and cherish someone very dear to you, it will enable St. Joseph’s Health to continue providing care that gives new life, renewed life, and a better life to all who come through our doors.

Obituaries

Families of the deceased often inquire about wording to include in obituaries if they would like memorial gifts made to an area of particular meaning to the deceased. Here is one suggestion:

In lieu of flowers, the family of (Deceased Person Name) respectfully requests contributions in their memory to St. Joseph’s Health Foundation, 703 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07503. Donations may also be made online at GiveToStJosephs.org
