With more than 100 specialties ranging from Oncology to Primary Care and Pediatrics to Orthopedics, our doctors are dedicated to serving our Paterson, Wayne, Totowa and Cedar Grove communities and beyond.
This Doctor’s Day we want to show thanks and appreciation to our over 1100 physician experts, for their steadfast dedication to St. Joseph’s Health, most recently leading us through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before meeting Doctor Principe, my husband and I suffered from pregnancy loss multiple times. Other doctors I saw before him did not have answers as to why? As soon as Doctor Principe heard my story, he knew exactly what was causing my miscarriages. Meeting him was life changing! My husband and I welcomed a beautiful Son soon after. I have never met a more caring doctor. I was able to reach out to him at any time with any questions or concerns. His level of dedication to his patients is unmatched! We are forever grateful. A year after being told by my dentist that I would never need my wisdom teeth out, I found myself in intense pain but no answer why. Thankfully to the compassion of Dr. Ephros and his OMS team, they were able to find and treat an infection I had due to impacted wisdom teeth. If it wasn’t for them, I would’ve had much worse damage done. I now live a pain and worry free life thanks to them!
Dr. LaPietra is a tremendously patient individual and cares abundantly about the patients she serves at the hospital. Put simply, she is hardworking and kind. She is always wearing a big, bright smile that brings joy to those around her.

I recently underwent ACL reconstruction surgery with Dr. McInerney and his team of orthopedic specialists. I did not have to be a professional football player or world renowned athlete to receive the same care and compassion as they have shown me. Dr. Maliha Ahmad is an amazing physician! She is very kind and takes her time to make sure you understand the prognosis. Dr. Ahmad is truly an expert in her specialty and is very dedicated to the mission and values of St. Joseph’s Health. I am very grateful for Dr. Ahmad.
I would like to honor Dr. Kaszubski. She took such good care of me when I injured my knee. She took the time to explain my injury and give me suggestions about other areas of weakness I was experiencing. I left with a plan of care I felt comfortable with. Thank you!
Dr. Boulos is an exceptional physician! Dr. Boulos worked so hard to uncover what was going on with my body all while helping me stay calm and put aside my fears. I am so grateful to have had such a wonderful doctor with amazing bedside manner and is very dedicated to the mission of healing all his patients.
Dr. Vasena is a compassionate and caring pediatrician. My son Milan was born with a Hypoglossal Throidal Cyst and coded on me. It was a gruesome 40 days. In that 40 days, I heard about Dr. Vasena and her special care with kids. She took over Milan’s case and truly has flourished. She has been an integral part of my family and we are thankful for her.

l am writing this note about my doctor how wonderful She is she is very Caring and every time l comes for my visit she always spends quality time with me to know how l am doing and also about my health l have been with her for eighteen years and I am very comfortable with her if I am down when I get to my appointment she always cheers me up when I leave l always have a smile on my face that’s why she should be recognized for Doctor of the month.
I am grateful and appreciative for Dr. Yana Cavanagh & Dr. Derick Christian and all they have done to help me with a chronic issue I have with my colon. Dr. Cavanagh as the point person for identifying the root cause and continues to trat me. She also brought in Dr. Christian who performed a long surgery perfectly. After a brief recovery I have been able move forward as before with no impact to my quality of life.

On March 23, 2022 I went to the emergency for abdominal pain and Urinary Tract Infection. Dr. Cerbone ordered a CT Scan with a finding of Colitis in my colon. I wanted to thank the doctor and his staff for his quick response in finding out my medical condition. I also want to say I appreciate the concern and the help. Dr. Principe was amazing on our pregnancy journey to deliver our daughter, Veronica, and beyond when we needed support and guidance to get her well enough to come home. Dr. Bethel was our savior as he stepped in to help make Veronica the strong little warrior she is (2 times) so that she could show the world how much love she has to give. They both made us feel like they they were truly invested in her future and ours as a family and we are forever grateful.
I have been a patient of Dr Bheil,s for many years. He is a kind thoughtful doctor. He always appears to have a relaxed manner each time you see him. Compared to cardiologist I have had in the past he is always ready to listen if you have any problems and how to address them. Dr Bheil has always shown up at my hospital beds even if my problem is not related to my heart I would recommend him and have recommended him to many friends. Can’t say enough about this doctor he makes you feel relaxed as soon as you see him.
Dr. Robert Solis is an amazing doctor! He takes the time to listen and get to the core of the problem. He guides you through each step of your condition to gain the best quality of life. He goes above and beyond for you health. He is always kind and genuinely cares about your well being. He is no ordinary doctor and I’m proud to call him my Doctor!
Dr. Caroline changed my life. I was in pain, uncomfortable and very worried about the procedure. The doctor and her team explained the procedure and possible outcomes. They answered my many questions in a very kind, gentle and patient way.

So many times appreciation towards others is not talked about. I would like to recognize, you, Dr. Azhak during National Doctor’s Day. During the COVID pandemic, Dr. Azhak showed unprecedented appreciation and heartfelt dedication for the nursing profession. I have known Dr. Vazir for 17 years and Dr Farkas for almost 30 years , before he retired from his practice They are amazing physicians.
Both Dr. Vazir and Dr. Farkas always take the time to listen, even with their demanding caseloads, and especially during the challenging Pandemic.
