Congratulations to the 2021 Nursing Scholarship Recipients!
St. Joseph’s Health Foundation is proud to announce the winners of the 2021 Anthony J. Addeo, M.D. Scholarship Award, established by Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. Simonelli to honor the memory of a physician who greatly contributed to the advancement of medicine at St. Joseph’s Wayne Medical Center. The Anthony J. Addeo, M.D. Scholarship Fund supports students pursuing a career in nursing.
NEW in 2021, St. Joseph’s Health Foundation awarded the Rev. Msgr. Mark Giordani Memorial Scholarship to one special nursing student. This award, established in honor of Antonicello and Garvey Families, supports students from the Paterson and Wayne communities; two communities that Msgr. Giordani loved and served. This scholarship was design to help encourage their educational pursuits, especially as they relate to nursing.
Msgr. Mark was a beloved priest of the Diocese of Paterson for fifty years and served as Rector of St. John’s Cathedral from 1988-2018. He was also the Chaplain for the Paterson Police Department, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department and the Port Authority of NY & NJ, among many other positions throughout the community.
Award selections are determined based on proof of acceptance and enrollment in a current nursing program, demonstrated financial need and clearly stated career goals.
It is our honor to congratulate the well-deserved recipients of the 2021 Nursing Scholarships:
