Affiliation Brings More Advanced Cancer Care To Northern New Jersey
St. Joseph’s Health and Hackensack Meridian Health are proud to announce a new clinical affiliation that brings expanded cancer care services to the residents of Northern New Jersey.
“This new affiliation is a major step forward in creating a comprehensive cancer care program between our two health systems,” says Kevin J. Slavin, President & CEO of St. Joseph’s Health. “Our partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health continues to evolve, from our joint home care and rehabilitation programs, to now the best cancer care for residents in the surrounding communities.”
Two years ago, St. Joseph’s Health and Hackensack Meridian Health announced a clinical and strategic partnership that deepens both organizations’ commitment to providing expanded access to care and delivering the highest quality throughout the region. Expanding oncology services is another example of how the partnership is bringing additional expertise to the community.
“We are pleased to bring our nationally-recognized team from Hackensack University Medical Center’s John Theurer Cancer Center to the Passaic County region,” says Robert C. Garrett, FACHE, CEO of Hackensack Meridian Health. “This affiliation is built on a collaborative model that will offer an exceptional lineup of oncologists and advanced services. It’s been a goal of ours to make sure that every New Jersey resident has access to high-quality compassionate care that’s accessible and convenient.”
The John Theurer Cancer Center is part of the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. It has been recognized by US News & World Report as the best cancer center in New Jersey.
A new Infusion Center, opening on the St. Joseph’s Health Wayne Medical Center campus later this month, is among the first steps in the new oncology affiliation. The partnership will also extend to the St. Joseph’s University Medical Center campus in Paterson, and a new facility opening later in 2022 in Totowa.
