Family Turns Their Painful Loss into Help for St. Joseph’s Health

An inspirational family from Passaic turned the pain of losing a relative due to COVID-19 into compassion by helping those in need on the frontlines.

Siddhraj Solanki, 76, passed away on April 18^th and left behind a legacy which his family soon picked up on. Solanki always worked to make his community a better place, and his relatives could not think of a better way to honor his life than to help fight the pandemic.

Solanki’s grand-nephew, Devin, saw the desperate need for PPE across the nation during the peak of the pandemic and wanted to do his part. He and his family worked diligently to find a way to protect the healthcare providers who cared for his grand-uncle at St. Joseph’s Health.  The family donated 2,000 FFP2 face masks to St. Joseph’s on May 11^th, and wishes their story will inspire other families to do what they can during these unprecedented times.
